’Tis the Season: When AI Became My New Green Energy Drink

How is it November already?
I had one of those “wait, what?” moments last week — the kind where you glance at the calendar and suddenly realize the holidays are basically tomorrow. My brain instantly jumped to all the things I haven’t done yet:
❌ No vacation plans
❌ No Thanksgiving menu
❌ No gift list
❌ No strategy for keeping my inbox under control
And just like that, my stress level spiked.
If you’re anything like me, this time of year has a way of lighting up that “Red Energy” zone — the draining, deadline-driven mode where we overthink, overplan, and try to organize our way into calm.
But then something unexpected happened.
Last week, I read an article from my friend (and collaborator) Edwin Jansen, founder of Coachfully.ai. He wrote about the future of work, AI, and what it really means to lead with confidence in a time when everything — from business models to job descriptions — is being rewritten.
As I read, I felt this quiet shift inside me.
I realized: I’ve been so focused on doing more that I forgot the real goal — doing better. And not “better” in the productivity-hack sense. Better in the human sense.
That article inspired me to rethink how REVEL shows up for the leaders we serve. What if, instead of fearing AI, we treated it as a way to outsource Red Energy — those repetitive, draining, mental-load tasks — so we can protect our best energy for creativity, connection, and joy?
So, I decided to take my own advice.
I hired Edwin to help me build a custom AI GPT for REVEL — something that acts as a behind-the-scenes strategist to make our programs more efficient and scalable.
It’s not replacing our work; it’s amplifying it.
By letting AI handle the Red Energy — organization, drafts, research, reminders — I get to spend more time in my Green Energy zone: coaching, creating, connecting, and leading with purpose.
Here’s the lesson I keep coming back to:
When you free up time, don’t fill it with more Red Energy.
Fill it with rest, renewal, or real impact.
AI isn’t my new assistant — it’s my new Green Energy Drink.
Because here’s the truth:
AI won’t make you less human — it’ll give you space to be more human.
More present. More creative. More focused on what actually matters.
And this holiday season, that’s the plan I’m sticking to.
Now… if I could just remember where I put the wrapping paper. 🎁
